- New Sabah Times

Delete"This new development augurs well for Sabah in terms of placing Sabahans in senior positions in federal departments and agencies in the state.
"The Information Communication and Culture Ministry's move is in the right direction and PBS hopes to see more Sabahans head federal departments and agencies in the state, including the State Customs Department, soon to prevent this issue from being politicised by the opposition in the next general election," he said in a statement.
DeleteHenrynus said it was also in line with the agreement or social contract contained in the Malaysia Agreement of 1963.
DeleteAlmain Ajirul was appointed director of the Sabah Information Department effective Jan 1 this year and Ali Ngasio as acting director of RTM Sabah effective Nov 1 last year.
DeleteHenrynus said that with the appointments of Almain and Ali, the State Information Department, the Sabah Broadcasting Department, the Department of Special Affairs (JASA) and the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) bureau in Sabah were all headed by Sabahans.
DeleteHe called on other federal ministries and agencies to emulate the example.
PBS Sec-Gen Wants Former KDM PKR Members To Unite In BN
ReplyDeleteKOTA KINABALU, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) secretary-general Datuk Henrynus Amin said the party doors were always open to anyone, including former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and other former PKR members from the Kadazandusun Murut (KDM) community.
He said PBS, one of the Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, was willing to accept them for the sake of unity, particularly those from the KDM community in Sabah.
Delete"If we are not united, we will have little impact (politically), either in the ruling Barisan Nasional or in the opposition.
Delete"That's why, the KDM community must be united for the good of the community, the people and the state...we cannot afford to be disunited," he said
He said the fact that many PKR members, who were disheartened with the party and left the opposition, showed that PKR was not the best platform for the KDM community in Sabah to pursue their political struggle.

ReplyDeleteKOTA KINABALU, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) secretary general Datuk Henrynus Amin is confident that top Kadazandusun and Murut civil servants, including those categorised as Sino-Natives, Muslim or Non Muslim, would also be considered for the post of mayor of Kota Kinabalu.
He said that late last year, PBS had given its views in writing to the top Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership on the general issue of power sharing within BN to reflect the multi-ethnic character of the state.
DeleteHenrynus refuted opposition accusations that PBS had not been vocal on the issue of power sharing or that the BN government was not listening to the people's grievances.
Delete"PBS is a responsible member of the state BN coalition government and would not fall into the opposition trap of politicising the mayor's appointment," he said

Give Chance To Locals In Interior Of Sabah To Become Teachers
ReplyDeleteTENOM, May 28 (Bernama) -- Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Radin Malleh has appealed to the Education Ministry to immediately review and relook at the decisions of the interviewers during an open interview for the teaching profession, meant for the locals in Nabawan and Kemabong in the interior of Sabah, on May 7.
He said this was because many parents and students felt that the interviews were not conducted according to the intended target.
Delete"The main objective of the interview is to give opportunity to locals in the interior of Sabah, especially in Nabawan and Kemabong, to become teachers," he told Bernama.
DeleteHowever, he added that candidates from outside the interior districts had also been taken in, depriving the locals of the opportunity to become teachers.
DeleteRadin, who is Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice-president, said he was made to understand that initially the target group for the intake were locals in the interior who achieved six credits including in Bahasa Melayu and History in SPM, and active in co-curriculum activities.
Delete"Scoring 'A' (credit) is not compulsory for the interior students of Nabawan and Kemabong. The interviewers came all the way from Putrajaya; they didn't know who these candidates were, so they just picked at random and the qualifications applied were the normal one, for example, 4As for male candidates and 5As for female, thus depriving the locals in the area," he said.
DeleteRadin said what was saddening was the fact that local education officers were not being involved at all in the intake process.
ReplyDelete"Hence the main objective to give opportunity to the locals is defeated. This is not fair to the locals in Nabawan and Kemabong," he said.
If these things go on, he said, the locals would be forever deprived of the opportunity to become teachers.
Delete"That's why the parents want the decisions be reviewed so that the locals are given the chance to realise their dreams."
Radin said that schools in the interior including in Nabawan and Kemabong were still lacking in many aspects including infrastructure and information technology facilities.
DeleteThese should be taken into account in the intake of teachers through open interview, he added.
