Sabah KITA Chief quits to join BN

Keningau: Sabah Parti Kesejahteraan Tanah Air (Kita) was left in a quandary after its chief, Thomas Anggan, left the party to give his support to Barisan Nasional (BN).

Anggan said he is joining the BN because he believed in the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who brought rapid development in the country, especially Sabah.

He also expressed support to the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman and other BN leaders.

While he is unsure how many Kita members would follow his footsteps, he is urging them to support BN.

"I cannot force them to join BN but I hope they will do so," he said.

Sabah Kita only has 4,000 members including 1,000 in the Interior, he said.

The former Bingkor Assemblyman predicted that BN will win easily in the Keningau Parliament seat and Bingkor State seat in the election.

He said the opposition will lose in the election because its leaders are not united and more concerned about their self-interest.

Bingkor BN candidate, Kennedy Jie John @ Kenn (Upko), said the voters are giving good response during his campaigning rounds.

"Generally, the people I met supported us but there are still fence sitters and non-supportive voters," he said.

However, Upko is gaining strength as the campaign process pushes forward.

He said they have 10 more days to turn the tide in "black areas" with intense campaigning by the BN.

On Anggan joining the BN, he welcomed it and said that BN is gaining strength and support.

It also showed that people who felt sidelined previously are now aware of the BN's struggles, he said
